Saving Francesca

Saving Francesca - Melina Marchetta description

4.5 stars

This is my first Melina Marchetta's book and probably won't be the last one. That alone makes you guess that I liked the book, add the four stars and the answers are given. I really enjoyed reading this book, I didn't fall in love with it nor did my feels go up and down, but its tenderness reached the deepest place in my heart..

This book is not about just a high school girl. It's about family. It's about friendship. It's about loss. It's about a fake world built up in order to never face the real world. It's about finding who you are and what you've lost long the way. It's about love. It's about experiences. It's about anger. It's about school life. It's...

So many contemporary books deal with the same problematics but there is something special about Marchetta's way of doing it. Marchetta takes a big problem like depression and transforms it in so much more, not just a word that we are used to bringing up every now and then like something unreal... depression is a serious matter and I really appreciated this author's way of describing it.

Unfortunately I don't have much time and I don't feel like postponing this review, so I'm just going to say the things that I loved most. I loved Francesca. I loved her way of seeing the world, in her denial mode. Once the anger was out and the truth unfolded she reveals her true self, and we discover that there is so much more to this shy/extravagant girl, and she doesn't disappoint us at all (Well how could she? She is so real). Like I said I loved her little messed up head. I loved her mother/daughter relationship. I loved seeing Mia from Francesca's eyes.

Well I also appreciated all the other characters, most of all Thomas. I loved him! I was hoping for something different even though I knew how things were going to end up ... but that still didn't stop me from dreaming. I like to dream a little when I read even if the ending won't turn out to be the way I wanted it. That's something I actually love about books... they make you dream, they give you all the information in order to figure out the ending and at times hope for a different ending, and when the last page arrives they still surprise you.

This is the first book in which the love story didn't really get me. I was falling in love with Francesca's world, with her bizarre italian life (there were sooooo many things that only italians can understand...) that made me laugh and smile so many times, that I didn't really care about Will. I just wanted her to be happy. ^^

Great book!!! Hope to read Tom's POV as soon as possible!

P.S. I was listening to Radiohead's Creep and well I couldn't stop myself from connecting the song to Francesca and Mia's relationship.

I finally managed to write this review! While painting the kitchen I finally got a break, lol... Here I go. Hope to write down everything. There's a lot to say!

" Your future, dear Ryah,
has just begun"

Did you like [b:First Year|23365048|First Year (The Black Mage, #1)|Rachel E. Carter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1413305559s/23365048.jpg|42470738] ??? Yes? Well then you're going to love [b:Apprentice|23300435|Apprentice (The Black Mage, #2)|Rachel E. Carter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1421085113s/23300435.jpg|42856314] !!!! Didn't like much First year? Well you should read this one! You'll love it or at least like it! Didn't read First Year!? You absolutely have to... not only because it's a really good read but because it gets you to Apprentice!!!

Again I don't feel like writing the plot, you know how First Class ended. Well now we have 4 years of Apprentice in one whole book. I may say that is in fact the only flaw I found in this book... days, weeks, months and years past by too fast. At times I was having a hard time keeping up and remembering that another whole year had past. The mock battles were a great reminder.

✿ I'll start saying that I love this author's way of writing, she is capable of bringing out so much even in simple phrases. "My magic was a wild stallion raging within, rearing up against its prison of ember..." The graphic content is so precise that we have a beautiful realistic and fantastic vision of what is happening.

♛ Rachel E. Carter has brought this sequel to a whole new level. First Class was great and really enjoyable but with many flaws. I adored it. But this one? A whole different story. First of all we finally have many answers too all those questions popping up while reading First Class. The world building gets more accurate, but can be even better. Like I said this series has a lot of surprises and this author is going to steel our hearts, well she has already stolen mine and there are still two more books! I would have loved to have a map, just to go clear up my mind every now and then... but I think the one that I've built up is pretty cool as well!

So we have more descriptions, more fighting, woooo I loved the mock battles! What are those? Well you'll need to read this book to find out!!!

♚ Now let's get to our fav heroine, Ry. She grows day after day. We testimony the growth of her strength, her powers, her determination, her love, her values and her loyalties. I love Ry, I think she can become one of the best kick-ass heroine's. There were some parts that did kind of piss me off, her mind playing with a poor young curly boy... but then I reminded myself, she is in love with somebody she possibly can't love and She is young!!! So I forgave her and got back to loving her even more!

ღღღAlex & Ella ღღღ

I already loved them in book one, here I just learned to love them more. Well since it's only Ry's POV we get to live their love story trough her. I must say I would have liked to know more. Here I go... I'd love to read a Novella about their love story ^^ ... Just an idea, lol.

Now let's get to the main reason my heart almost risked a heart attack!

Darren, Ry and Ian.

description

I've NEVER loved a love triangle as much as this one. It never made me tight my fist and wish that the third guy would mysteriously disappear from the picture. I loved Ian and his sweet way of loving and caring for Ry, but I loved Darren even more, not because he is the bad guy and we tend to love bad guys, because WE ALL KNOW that Darren is everything but bad! He is lovely and his intense and torn love for Ry is just heart breaking, heart melting!!!

"Something I don't regret"

I loved the love part. It just made my heart race and stop, it made me hold on tight to the kindle cus I was scared that their beautiful love would just vanish.

➳ ❤ This book was great! Loved it, it isn't a cliffhanger but still can't wait for book three. Well I just read we'll have to wait a while but I'm pretty sure the wait will be worth it. Can't wait to get back to Darren, Ry, Alex and Ella. Hope to see Ian again, hopefully happy and in love! ^^

The ending was kind of surprising, I did know that Darren was up to something, that he still loved Ry but ... that ending??? Wow! Just loved it and I finally got to see Priscilla get slapped right on her beautiful face, well metaphorically speaking! And the love speech??? It just left me speechless and dreamy!

"That somehow, this insufferable girl would become the one person I am forever, hopelessly, madly drawn to against my will and possibly even my better judgment."

The Black Mage: First Year (The Black Mage, #1)

The Black Mage: First Year (The Black Mage, #1) - Rachel E. Carter description

☺ Since I was a child I've always loved fantastic stories. The ones capable of making you dream and fly with your imagination. I grew up loving Marvel, anime like Dragonball (and there is a fighting scene in this book that just reminded me of Goku's Kamehameha - yeah I googled it, since in italian it's "Onda energetica", much easier to remember), and all the wicked stories, movies, cartoons, books, manga and so on. All this preamble to say that I could not not enjoy this book since it embraces all the fantastic things I love . There are a lot of flaws I must say but I think I'm capable of recognizing potential, and I must say I think this author will only improve. This series is going to surprise us!

description

There are so many analogies with Harry Potter (since I've only started reading Harry Potter months ago at the beautiful age of 24, it's inevitable that many things are pretty vivid in my mind) but I must say that that didn't bother me one bit. It's about a magic school! I don't mind analogies or any kind of work inspired by others. As an art historian I know that there would have never been a Michelangelo without Donatello's influence and so on. I know it's a bit off but that's just how things work, past inspires the present ^^.

After this brief parenthesis let me say that I enjoyed this book more than I actually expected. I was captivated by the style right away. The dialogues are this' author's forte. She loves to write dialogues and we love reading them. The world building isn't much developed and there are many uncleared things: does everybody have magic? Why are five warriors, five healers and five alchemists needed? The one that they are bound to protect is a reign threatened by others?

❣ These are just some of the questions... but not knowing didn't bother me nor did it change the enjoyment I was attempting while reading. We have one POV and it's the main heroine's point of view, she is giving us a view of her world, her struggles, her hopes. We shouldn't be expecting everything to be cleared out soon in book one just because that's how many author's work. This is FIRST YEAR so of course it would be centered on school experiences. Ryah's is in for Combat so why should we expect anything else when we already know that that's the main theme? The fighting parts were really incredible and the last fighting scene, with the loss, was kind of unexpected, I liked that ^^.

♣ I know Rachel E. Carter will clear out all the the misinterpreted parts and will bring us out of the Academy sooner or later. We will just have to wait.

P.S. Great Debut and can't wait to read the sequel!

Okay post scriptum's must always go at the end of the text... but I'm going to change the good old latinism rules.

♣ I'm not going to write down the plot again... the author has done a great job so you can read it there but I'm going to say that this book is capable of getting you hooked from page one to the end. For those capable of seeing beyond the flaws (world building and not many informations) you'll find yourself catapulted in a never ending learning experience. You'll find yourself struggling with Ry and her friends. You'll feel the power of magic run through your veins. And you'll also experience some feels!!!

Thank you Mom, for everything.

This simple phrase and the author's thank yous define this whole book. I gave this book three stars because I don't think it deserves 2 stars, but if GD had half stars I would have used those. This book is amazing and annoying... with a perfect ending.

You may ask how can a book be both amazing and annoying. I know... I really am having a hard time rating it.

This book is about a college girl, Haley, who is going through a bad time. Her mother is seriously ill. She is dying. Cancer. A word that makes your body shiver and your heart ache.

Haley moves out, following her parents wishes, and back to college. Here she shares a house with her best friend, Kyler. The friendship between the two is really heartwarming and it just makes you smile. Kyler is not Haley's only bestfriend, there is another person she grew up with, Noah, he is also Kyler's boyfriend since ... forever. Their trio is really awesome. Half star is for them!

Noah doesn't live with the two but shares a house with his old geeky roommate, Eli. Haley and Eli used to hang out during their freshman year, but Haley never saw beyond his geekiness and was too head over feet for another boy to even consider Eli as something more. Well when she does meet Eli again things are completely different. She feels attracted to him right away and can't stand stay away from him and at the same time can't stand the idea of beying happy with HIM. Here the part gets really annoying!!!

I do understand at first why she thinks the way she does and want's to stay away from him in order to concentrate on her mother illness... but after a while it gets kind of irritating. It's clear that there aren't any walls to keep up so why be stubborn and annoying about it? You're not a 15 year old.

You want him. You don't want him. You think you have the right to be jealous. Treat him like shit. Than want him... and so on... SIGH!

She acted all the time like a fool, like a childish girl, thinking all these stupid things that not even Bella in [b:Twilight|41865|Twilight (Twilight, #1)|Stephenie Meyer|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361039443s/41865.jpg|3212258] would have come up with.

Eli instead was adorable, sweet, shy, flirty and great. Another half star goes to Eli.

The love part just made me sigh all the time, I couldn't stand it, it was boring, girlish, childish and so on. On the other hand I absolutely loved every single scene with her mother. It made me appreciate every single moment spent with my mother. I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose my mother now or later in my life, and this book just touched the right spot, it made me smile and cry. With a perfect ending it really touched my heart. All the remaining stars go to the mother/daughter relationship! Okay read... I think this book could have been perfect if the love relationship had been better described.

Learning to Live

Learning to Live - Kira Adams
"Sometimes, you have to be fully broken
in order to piece yourself together again".

This is the first book of a series [b:The Infinite Love Series|24837343|The Infinite Love Series (Infinite Love #1- #4)|Kira Adams|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423112280s/24837343.jpg|44481363]. I found it and got it free on amazon.com. When I read the plot I thought it was about growing up and learning to love and that it was a tetralogy. I was really in for a good young adult love series... I'm in this chick-lit period and I'm kind of enjoying myself.

Well... after a little bit I figured out that this book was not part of a series but a standalone. I know I should have read the plot better. I'm the one at fault, but still that kind of disappointed me. 2.5 stars is all I can rate it.

Some spoilers -
This story is about a girl, Ciera, who has lived all her life as an outcast, she get's to be picked on, she is shy, has only one friend and a really big financial crisis at home. Stil she gets up everyday and smiles. Cliché but I got past that, I thought she was really cute... until ... I'm going to get back to it.

Then we have Topher, hot bad guy. Nothing too original there... samo samo. We have a stereotypical bad guy that turns out to be just a problematic kid who needs to be loved. Well he is one of the many that pick on poor Ciera, well at least thats what the first pages and the author tells us since he starts to find her attractive. Why you must ask??? I forgot to say that there is a little bit of Cinderella, black swan. There is this girl who just can't stand watching her being bullied and never fight back and actually decides to step up and help her becoming her fairy godmother!

Where was I? OH YES... Until we find out she has just a couple of months left. Last stage of cancer. My jaw literally fell, and not in a good way. The disappointment just grew. I'm sorry but for one brief second I thought it was going to be a tetralogy, and that Ciera was going to fight the cancer... and that for once we were going to read something different, but when I figured out that she was actually dying and writing a bucket list I just wanted to close the book and never open it again. But the style was okay and the love story between her and Topher cute... so I decided to give it a try.

A really okay story, some feels, some smiles... but that's about it. Couldn't get past the fact that I was reading ANOTHER story of a girl about to dye, that didn't want to get involved, that never experienced love, making love, and all that love and life have to offer. This book had soooooo many analogies with Spark's [b:A Walk to Remember|3473|A Walk to Remember|Nicholas Sparks|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1385738968s/3473.jpg|3143497] or the movie A time for dancing. I snorted so many times, it was like reading Walk to remember all over again. Sigh :(

I'm sorry, I know cancer is a really big issue but that doesn't mean it can be used so lightly. It kind of pisses me of that it gets used so often as a good expediant.

Foreplay

Foreplay - Sophie Jordan
"This wasn't a fling.
It was less than that. It was us pretending.
Playing at something more"

I don't remember the last time I've read a new adult with a pretty common plot that made me shiver, smile, laugh, and love all at once. This book sure isn't perfect, and sure isn't "special" but it sure is heartmelting! My feels were going up and down like a teeter totter. I'm pretty picky on new adults and love stories, so if I gave it 4 stars it means it really deserves it!!! This book I'm pretty sure made and is going to make a lot of hearts flip.

When I decided to to start [b:Foreplay|17254035|Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1)|Sophie Jordan|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1367338814s/17254035.jpg|23845708] I was looking for a fast-paced read and I was really surprised to find a very enjoyable and entertainment read.

I gave it 4 stars because it's really hard to find a contemporary new adult that makes you feel all these emotions and makes you smile when things get heated up. I found the sexual graphic great, the two main characters were discovering new pleasures while searching for their true selves. Never faking their kisses and smiles.

description

Broken. Why I didn't give it 5 stars... The common plot with the abuse. I'm sorry I get it it's a really really great expediant, it sells, it makes you sad, it gets the readers into the story, into the character... and so on. Well that doesn't work for me. I mean I get it, bad shit happens... but it's kind of frustrating to open a new adult and every time find an abuse that justifies the main characters behavior.

Life isn't what we plan it to be... plans are worthless when there is only one life to live. Don't you think? This book is about life, the one that you live day by day.

Pepper is a college student with no experiences and only one thing on her mind: get Hunter and find safety. Well Hunter reprensents the shelter she has always dreamt of. He is her bestfriend's brother, he is the one that saved her and made her feel welcomed, he is all that she wants. Or not?

Be careful what you wish for.

Pepper finds out from her bestfriend that Hunter has finally broke up with his girlfriend and he is single. That means one thing! Yeah, she can finally declair her love to him.

What does Pepper do? Hide.

Butttt her cool friends Em and Georgia help her get out of the shell and live the life, oh no they just drag her to a bar and force her to flirt with the hottest bartender alive!!! How can she get the man of her dreams when she can't even flirt? She decides to learn how to play the game that gets your heart beating and your brain melting. Foreplay.

Reese, hot, adorable, hot, nice, hot, caring, hot, bartender. Did I say HOT? I fell in love with him right away! He actually decides to help her out... once the truth is out. He gets her playing and learning that you can't play a game and not fully get involved. We know how things are going to end up. Thank goodness!!! Life is full of surprises and Pepper soon finds out that reality sometimes is even better than dreams! Sometimes the journey is so much better than the destination.

"You want me to make it sound less wrong.
You want me to tell you I'm something else.
Something that isn't broken. Is that it, Pepper?"

Read this book if you're looking for a really pleasant read.

Dirty Angels

Dirty Angels - Karina Halle description

Warning : this book contains extreme hardcore sexual and graphic content. This book is not for the faint hearted. There are some elements like abuse, sexual harrasment, violence and torture that might cause some distress.

Before reading this you should first read the Sins & Needles trilogy. That's something that I DIDN'T do!!! And I don't know how I'm ever going to make up for it since I already know how the love triangle is going to end up.

Well only after reading this plot did I recall the author's name, and I guess it was already too late. I liked this plot and decided to read this book... :( well I don't regret it but I'm kind of sad, cus I don't know if I'll ever pick up the trilogy now.

"Because I want to destroy beautiful
things before they can destroy me"

This books made my guts swirl of exquisite agony that I almost couldn't recognize myself while reading. I was telling myself "You're a good person you can't stand this s***". You can't fall for Javier... you just can't". Sorry. I have. That's what this author has done to me... page after page she shattered my morals and made ME throw them out.

Let's not confuse fiction with reality! Mine is a review about a crude book, yes, but capable of giving me so many emotions that had me hooked from the first chapter and I just couldn't put it down!

I hated every male character in this book... even Javier. I don't know how many times I just wanted to rip his balls out! What he was doing was so wrong I just couldn't stand it, but my love for him was so close to Catullo's Odi et Amo that I just coudn't help myself from falling for him and his complex personality!

This book is a young woman, Luisa, who lives a reality very common to mexicans: poverty. She is forced to lock up her desires and dreams for the love of her ill parents. The love that they have taught her is the only thing that gives her the strenght to keep going. Day after day she sacrifices a piece of her soul til the day comes when she is forced to give it away, not to the devil, but to a demon. Salvador Reyes. When she accepts (well since she is forced we can't really talk about free will) Salvador's marriage proposal she gives up everything, even that little string of hope left in her heart.

But not all hope is lost when you enter Hell. Javier, our fallen angel, whose soul is shattered and covered in mud, has only one thing on his mind: rule Hell. He kidnaps Luisa and want's to use her to get to Salvador. What he wants is a drug trade. But what he doesn't expect is that there is so much more to trade. During the time they spent together he starts to really see her. This woman has a face, a voice, a story, a soul... she's not just some hostage, and he isn't just a captor.

"And that's when I knew, with
nothing but a smile, my Luisa,
my queen, had broken me"

Crude and dirty their love blows your mind aways. Even though we have a clear stockholm syndrome we stil can't help getting captured and fascinated by Luisa's twisted mind. She falls for him and doesn't want to change who he is but rule by his side. She's his queen.

I think that's the part that I personally loved the most. When he asks her to run away and forget about the cartels and Mexico she raises her head and firmly tells hims that that's not the man she has fallen for.

Crude and at times mind blowind this book is a great new adult. The graphic content is so precise that at times it makes you want to close the book and never open it again and at times it just has you hooked! The author did a great job giving this book a scary, crude and dark imprint.

./█ ♥/█ There is no cliché. It's not about the plot, that may not be so original, but it's about experiencing love! We get to fall in love with the main character, Lilly. Lilly is a girl that falls head over feat for a boy considered by everyone as "special" as you have read in the plot. Colton Neely

He is special... but not because of his autism. His way of showing his love, fighting against all odds is just pure "beauty"

I don't know how many times my heart melted for this short and stunning story. Please read it's about loving, nothing more nothing less. I don't want to sound cheesy but comm'n there is nothing better than love! What's the point of living if there is no love? When I think of the person I've fell in love with six years ago and that is still by my side I just can't help feeling the luckiest person on earth. When you're in love you just can't help smiling when you're reading of pure love stories! Lol. Sorry like I said I may be a lil cheesy at times!

Read this book! So little pages and so much force.

Don't know how many times I googled things up and started telling people that I loved them cus I thought that symptoms were those of a terminal person... Yeah I know. Stupid. But who hasn't done it at least once? -.-

Sometimes not knowing is so much better if knowing makes us change the way we look at the world and our own prospective. BUT I think knowing, being capable to actually feel and not cowardly looking away is more admirable. Not easy, but also not impossible.

Great book. Great feels. 4.5 stars. Loved it. Loved Lilly and her strenght and not even once did I think that she was throwing her life away for a "weird", hard person to deal with, of simply for love! I admired her strenght!

Autistic shouldn't be considered weird, different or "special". Just because they see the world from a different prospective doesn't mean we can't look at the same world.

I liked this book so much... well it absolutely deserves every single one of the four stars I gave it. ^^

I really enjoyed it and I liked it so much more than Under the Never Sky! The author brings this second book to a whole new level. The world building, the style, the dialogues, the descriptions and the characters mix up and generate an amazing dystopian young adult with a bit of supernatural to it.

This books starts off where we left. Aria hears steps and Perry is following her scent. He wants her, he needs her. He is the new Blood Lord, he needs to take care of his Tide, but he is also still a boy. The Tides don't accept Aria and declare it openly. Things aren't easy and Aria is forced to make a hard choice, the Aether storms are getting every day much threatening and Perry must make a choice that will guarantee a way to survive. The still Blue. Roar, Perry and Aria want to know if it exists... they want to reach, but everything comes with a cost. What are they willing to give up?

I adored the growing love between Perry and Aria. Not cheesy at all and it made me smile quite often. One whole star goes to their love story. Adorable.

"Do you ever miss anything?"
"You all the time"

I'm soooo happy that there is actually a book, since this is really rare, where there is a healthy beautiful, non malicious and pure friendship! The one between Roar and Aria. Finally!!! No forced love just to spice things up! Just a love story on one side and a beautiful and growing friendship on the other side!!! Yeayyyyyyyyyy...

Sometimes cruel things happen and we have to embrace whatever life has to offer. And thats exactly what Roar, my fav character, needs to do. He needs to fight even though it hurts. Even knowing so little of his love story with Liv, it still hurt. Young adult shouldn't be all roses, happy endings and fairy tales (even though I admit those are the endings I prefer, but thats cus I'm a dreamer ^^). We are not talking about the death of a main character but she somehow was part of Roar, and like I said he is my fav character... so it's like a part of him has died with her as well. Death in young adults is something that needs to be used with delicasy, and Rossi managed to do great. I really dislike when authours use the death of one of the main characters or illness as a good expedient. That's why i TOTALLY disliked [b:Allegiant|18710190|Allegiant (Divergent, #3)|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1395582745s/18710190.jpg|15524549].

Just a parenthesis. Sorry x.X

Well this was a relly good book, great read. I suggest it ... hope book three will be as good.

"Should we try this again?" he asked.
"The right way" she said and wove her fingers through his.
"Together".

Roar and Liv

Roar and Liv - Veronica Rossi There might be some involuntary spoilers...

I really enjoyed a lot this book even though I already knew how things were going to end up for the two lovers, since I've already read book two ... :(

The ending hurt...

description

But I was happy that Rossi gave us this novella. Through this novella we are given the opportunity to fall even more in love with Roar!!! We also get to see Perry before love hits him like a lightning ^^ !

"I bargain with fate. I'll let her go. I'll let Sable have her. I'll do anything, as long as she lives..."

"I'll give her time, but I won't give up. Ever"

Under the Never Sky

Under the Never Sky - Veronica Rossi description

Found this image on the net and just fell in love with it. Isn't it AWESOME!?

As soon as I finished this book I started reading the second one, and that only means one thing: I liked this book. Mine is not a full 4 star rating, more like 3.75, but still I think it deserves 4 stars. It's a really pleasant book that makes you smile, gives you shivers now and then, it has potential since the plot is good and it also has a growing love story. ^^

The book starts out with Aria being saved by a savage, and what a savage, and then getting thrown out of her own world, the Realms and the Pod. The only "fake" reality she has known of her whole entire life. And when the veil of Maya is off... the truth strikes her. Reality lies outside the Pod and not inside...

Forced to survive she actually finds an alley in her savage savior, Perry, that feels like puking just by staying near her. He is a Scire and he also smells tempers. And he just dislikes her scent and everything about her... she is the main reason why he has lost his nephew. That's what he thinks at first, and only at the end will the truth be revealed to us.

description

Well of course we know where all that hatred is going to bring them... closer and closer until they can't stand breathing the same air without sharing it. The romantic part is really touching, it wasn't rushed at all and it felt so real that it made my heart melt. I loved their dialogues and fights and kisses. Great and adorable couple!

description

There is another character worth describing: Roar. Perry's best friend and Liv's, Perry's sister, lover. Well he is still searching for her, and loving her even though she is far gone. He needs to find her and we can't wait for that day to arrive. He is so sweet ^^ He is an Aud, he hears things from far far away... And we find out that he's not the only one with this special ability.

At the end of the books many things happen, many hopes get shattered, and a new Blood Lord has gained his right to rule.

Can't wait to read book two, oh wait I'm already reading it! Hope it gets better and I want more love and jealousy! ^^ Lol.

Scarlet

Scarlet - A.C. Gaughen The first thing that came to mind as soon as I figured out this was about Robin Hood's band was the Robin Hood song that the italian cartoon singer Cristina D'avena sang, here's the link if you'd like to listen to it, it's really adorable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVdXxxXMcxY.

description

I grew up with Robin Hood's cartoons and soon fell in love with all the movies and the stories... and when I found out that one of my fav author had actually wrotten Robin Hood, not only did I feel stupid but also enthusiastic. I went out and bought Dumas' Robin Hood and after reading it I just couldn't stop holding it and smiling! Even though Lady Marion dies, I was prepared for her death but it still hurt. And right now I'm hoping that the author that did not like the weak figure of Marion will actually change the ending ^^, well Scarlet is no weak Marion.

A hero who steals from rich to give to poor, to help them pay taxes ^^ we can't help falling in love with someone like that! Even if its just a tale, a myth, a book character! Just can't help it, and Gaughen's Robin seems even more handsome!

I really really loved this book, and I'm happy because it's not easy to pick up a tale like Robin Hood and internalize it like A.C. Gaughen has done. She on my advice has done a marvellous job. At first I must admit I had a hard time getting used to Scarlet's language, it sounded forced and annoying and so no natural, and I think that was the author's purpose. Let's not forget who Scarlet is. A Lady.

We have a story set in our favorite forest, Sherwood and we find most of the characters loyal to Robin like little John, here John little, Much; Friar Tuck and Lady Marion, that takes the name of one of the characters, Will Scarlet. We don't find a lady like Marion but a thief, forced to steal to live at first and then forced to live to steal goods that could help others survive. It's clear like the rain that she is totally head over feat for our hero, Robin Hood, even though she has a hard time figuring it out. Stupid Scarlet! There is also another one falling slowly in love with Marion, cus we already know that "our" Robin is totally lost over her, and that is John little. His parts weren't annoying at all, I actually liked him a lot and fell pretty sorry for him... Well we will see what will happen in book two between them and how things are going to get tensed in the band. And I also hope that the author gives us a good love or happy story for John, he really deserves it.

I liked the adventures, the fighting, it wasn't much but it was good. I liked the descriptions and the feeling that the dialogues made me feel. I lost a couple of heart beat along the reading and just couldn't help it. Robin melts our hearts with his words and then shatters Scarlet's hope, but we know why he does and says what he does. <3 Our hero <3 *.*<br/>
I love it when books make my heart melt.

"We don't lie to each other, Scar. Especially not about things that mean I might lose you."

Some spoilers - - After finishing this book I just wanted to start the second as soon as possible. Lady Marion wed to that little mean rat, the sheriff dead, Robin and Scarlet hugging, I wanted to know more and read more but I decided to wait for book three, I don't feel like not only suffering after book two but also being forced to wait months before book three comes out, no way! Pure torture!

Lo straordinario mondo di Ava Lavender

Lo straordinario mondo di Ava Lavender - Leslye Walton, Alessandra Petrelli
4.5 stelle meritatissime!!!

=) Testo bellissimo.
